Worldbuilding & Quests on Guild
Guidelines for Voidmasters on creating, configuring, and maintaining campaign worlds, calendars, cartography, and quests on Guild.
Managing Your World on Guild
All worlds linked to The Void are configured through the Guild platform:
- World Management: Click the "Your World" button on the Guild dashboard. Here you can configure your world name, overview summary, and public lore description.
- Custom Calendar: You can create an in-depth calendar using fantasy-calendar.com and import it directly into your world (a dedicated custom calendar tool is also in development).
- Reputation System: Create custom factions, organizations, and reputation trackers for characters interacting with your world.
- Privacy Controls: You can toggle both your Calendar and Reputation systems between Public (visible to players) and Private (visible only to you).
- World Sigil: Upload a custom sigil on your "Your World" page. This sigil represents achievements, badges, and milestones earned by characters on your world.
Interactive World Maps
- Interactive Maps: Click "Open Map" on your world dashboard to set up, explore, or pin locations on your world's cartography.
- Map Graphic Uploads: Upload your high-resolution map graphics directly via maps.tarragon.be.
Creating & Balancing Quests
When authoring quests for your world on Guild:
- Level Scaling: Always consider the target party level when designing quest encounters, skill challenges, and hazard DCs.
- Descriptive Tags: Use clear and descriptive tags to organize quests by theme, biome, enemy type, or region.
- Loot Integration: Align quest rewards and encounter drops with the Treasure Guidelines.
- Global Quests: Any quest that affects the broader setting, overarching Void metaplot, or multiple worlds must be discussed and coordinated with fellow Voidmasters in
#void_councilbefore publishing.
Lore Secrecy Policy
Keeping the Wiki Lean
Detailed homebrew world lore, secret plots, and extensive narrative archives should not be placed on the public player wiki (void.tarragon.be), except for a concise introductory overview.
All deep world lore, faction dossiers, hidden histories, and player knowledge must be documented in #void_lore on Discord and/or on your world's page on Guild.
