Pathfinder 2e Treasure Guidelines

Each session should reward players according to Table 10-9 of the GM Core. Either the total loot should be 1/4th of the "Total Value" column or each PC receives the "Currency per additional PC" column for the session's level.

❗ Items vs. Currency: Permanent and consumable magic items should typically make up ~3/4ths of the reward value.

Quick Loot Distribution

To easily and fairly divide loot, the "buy back" method is often used by players of the void.

  1. Sell all items at half item price.[1]
  2. Split the total coinage.
  3. "Buy back" the items you want for half item price.

Example:

For a party of 4 the loot is:

With the items sold for half price it's:
0.8+(2/2=1)+(0.4/2=0.2)=2gp0.8 + (2 / 2 = 1) + (0.4 / 2 = 0.2) = 2 gp

Divided by 4, each adventurer gets 0.5 gp or 5 sp.

Add this to your inventory, then any someone can buy back the Hide shield for 1 gp or the palstave for 2 sp.

Keep in mind that there's only 1 item of each so multiple adventurers can't "buy back" the Hide Shield or Palstave.

Purchasing Equipment & Firearms

Between expeditions, players can spend their earned currency to purchase common equipment, consumables, and ammunition in The White Void (such as at FantastiMart).

  • Firearms Access: Even though firearms (guns) from Guns & Gears have the Uncommon trait, characters are permitted to purchase firearms in The White Void, provided they are trained in firearms.
  • Formulas & Crafting: Uncommon and rare formulas must be acquired or invented via the Inventor feat (see Craft an Item).
Footnotes
  1. Art, Materials, and Components are sold for full price instead of half. ↩
