Abstract

The Void is a Living World, Persistent Campaign. It is a shared world run by multiple game masters (called @Voidmasters). Your character will continue to exist across different worlds, gathering loot and experience along the way.

How to Get Started

  1. Choose Your System: We support both Pathfinder 2nd Edition and Dungeons & Dragons 2024. They are separate systems with separate characters, but the story and world are intertwined.
  2. Create Your Character: Follow the system-specific rules below.
  3. Register: Get registered on the Guild website (https://guild.tarragon.be) by a @Voidmaster.
  4. Join a Session: Sign up for sessions in the #🤝lfg channel on Discord and the Session on the Guild

Pathfinder 2e Rules

  • Access: Ask a @Voidmaster for access to the Foundry VTT.
  • Version: We use PF2e Remastered. Outdated CRB/APG and Battlezoo are not allowed. No Legacy Flaws or alternate boosts.
  • Choices: Use Common choices only. Uncommon or Rare choices require @Voidmaster approval. No PFS Limited/Restricted.
  • Tools: PathBuilder is recommended for creation. Character sheet import into Foundry is optional.
  • Progression: XP-based (Starting at Level 1). See XP Table.

Dungeons & Dragons Rules

  • Access: Ask a @Voidmaster for a D&DBeyond campaign invite.
  • Version: Updated 2024 rules. 2014 characters are allowed but must use 2024 spells, feats, and weapon properties.
  • Creation:
    • Level 3 start.
    • Point Buy for stats.
    • Free Feat at start (no Ability Score Increase feats).
    • Ability scores increase by +2/+1 or +1/+1/+1 (regardless of race/background).
  • Blacklist: All Homebrew, UA, Adventure content, Partnered Content, and Strixhaven are disallowed.
  • Progression: XP-based (see XP Progression).

General Rules

  • Team Player: Your character must want to be there, go on adventures, and be a team player. You are all part of the same organization.
  • Self-Sufficiency: You are responsible for knowing how your character works.
  • Loot & Items: Buy items between sessions. Loot and XP are awarded at the end of sessions.
  • Session Reports:
    • Wiki: Objective, information-dense, bullet-listed reports (grants rewards).
    • Discord: In-character, story-like, long-form narratives.
    • See Session Report Guidelines for details.
  • Multiple Characters: Having multiple characters is allowed! This is useful if you want to try different classes or need a lower-level character for specific quests.
    • Non-Transferable: XP and items are bound to the character and cannot be transferred.
    • Backup: It is always a good idea to have a backup character ready in case of death!
